Well, my freaky darlings, starting tonight I'm back on night shift, full time. For the foreseeable future, free time is going to be coming at something of a premium.
To those of you who are still waiting for volume 5, it will come -- but rather more slowly than I'd hoped, I'm afraid. I really wanted it to be finished before I went back to work, but the muse would not cooperate. Also, I've had to devote a fair chunk of writing time to my professional work; paychecks are important.
Right now, I need to get myself dressed and freshened so I can nip out to have my hair cut. I love the ridiculous length, but I need to get two or three inches of split ends chopped off so it looks healthy again. I also need to pick up a new day planner so I can keep track of my nutty schedule; with the way things are about to be, I'll need written reminders of things like article deadlines and people's birthdays. Also need to make myself a checklist so I remember to take everything to work tonight that I'm meaning to take, like the little first-aid kit I keep in my desk drawer and the zippered case of miniature office supplies. Think I'll poke at one of my research projects during breaks.
