Feel strangely unhappy this morning, and not entirely sure why. I think at least part of it is Charlotte being frustrated -- she hasn't been "out to play" in ages. I was working on chapter seven when I got the call about my grandfather being scheduled for heart surgery, which pretty much killed the muse, and I haven't gotten back to it since.

However...

Very, very light day expected here in the office. All I really have to do is print and copy the announcement pages and put them in the otherwise completed bulletins for Sunday. I brought in some organizational stuff so I can work on making this place more operable, but otherwise, I'm pretty much free and clear. And since I lack transportation, I don't really have the option of leaving any time I want.

And I think this means that come three o'clock, when I punch out for the day, I'm sitting back down at this computer and working on my novel. Because I really think it's about time I started making that more of a priority.

My quote of the day from yesterday: "It's like all my fandoms are hopelessly inbred."

I said that when telling [livejournal.com profile] valerious013 that Jeremy "Sherlock Holmes" Brett played Lord Henry in the 1976 film version of The Picture of Dorian Gray. And it's true. Name any one of my active fandoms, I can find at least one way it intersects or overlaps with another one.

When fandoms collide, indeed.
