On a Beauty and the Beast kick presently.

I want to write a ficlet for my little [livejournal.com profile] soraslight, since she felt so poorly last night, but it's not fleshing itself entirely well. I'm probably trying too hard.

Oh, I forgot to say -- everyone please welcome [livejournal.com profile] blcksunaphelion to the menagerie zoo flist of doom gang. She plays on Beyond Evolution with Clez, Sora, Ten and myself. She's currently writing a story which I am beta reading for her, and she's really good. ^_^

I've officially bowed out of the Christmas concert this weekend, a fact which makes me sad (the choir is singing a song by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra!), but it's really quite necessary. I am still not over my cold, although the worst of it has passed, and my voice is not what it ought to be. Speaking I sound a little strange, but singing....ugh. If you've seen Happy Feet and know how Mumble sings, let's just say it's not too far removed. So rather than wreck it for the other choir members, since I am one of the loudest singers, I thought it was best to just tell the director I can't do it. I promised that I would come and watch, though, and help serve the refreshments afterward.

On the up side, since I am skipping the concert, I feel no guilt whatsoever about not going to practice tonight. This means that once I get home from work, I will be available for all your chatting/RPing/pestering needs. I have laundry to do and things like that, so I might be a little slow in my responses, but I'll definitely be around. (Don't call my cell phone during the day, though, because I forgot it at home.)

Kevin spent yesterday decorating the outside of the house. It's so pretty! Now if only it would snow, instead of all this ugly rain, then it would look really nice. If and when it snows, I'll take pictures, because he's so proud of his handiwork and frankly, he has every right to be. He did a lovely job.

Well, to-do lists seem to be the rage on my flist today, so here's mine.

Copy, fold, and assemble the bulletin for the Christmas concert
Order paper and copier ink
Make order form for church calendars
Deliver check for church postage to post office and buy stamps for house
Go shopping for a particular DVD (gift), CD-Rs, Christmas cards, and camera film
Straighten up the dining room and vacuum
Laundry
Ficlet for Sora

That's not too bad, really. Nice, light day.
