My mom quotes a news website to me: The NYC medical examiner's office has ruled that Heath Ledger died of an accidental overdose of prescription drugs.

I'm honestly really very glad to know that it was just a horrible accident, and not that he was hooked on something. He always seemed smarter than that. That doesn't make his loss any less painful to his family, I'm sure, but maybe at least now the tabloids will stop printing garbage about his "secret heartache" and "agonizing addiction." I wanted to torch the newsstand I saw the other day.

I read somewhere that he wasn't getting very much sleep while filming the Dark Knight, and that he was disturbed by the Joker ): Maybe the overdose was because he got desperate.
