Used print cartridges -- recycled at Staples
Household paper and cardboard -- taken to recycling center
Books no longer wanted (or in some cases, never wanted in the first place) -- traded in at used book store for store credit
DVDs no longer wanted -- traded in at video store for store credit

Came home with things, of course. From the used book store I acquired a large book of Jane Austen -- Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, and Emma all in one volume. I already had S&S (another book to be discarded now, anyone want it?), but have never read the other two. I also picked up a copy of Get a Life! by William Shatner for my beloved Trekkie, who laughed when I gave it to him.

At the video store, we unloaded about twenty DVDs, and racked up a little over fifty dollars in store credit. Naturally, there was one way I wanted to spend this store credit.

"Can we get Muppets? I want Muppets."

As you may have heard, the first season of The Muppet Show was released today on DVD. We scarfed that up, along with season three of "The Greatest American Hero." Kevin already has the first two seasons, and we were laughing our heads off at the fact that the box for season three plays the theme song when you press where it tells you. Then we went and had Chinese food for dinner, dropped a box of cinnamon rolls off at my grandparents' house (they're still despondent over the loss of their bird, poor things), and came home.

Oh, I mentioned this on my other LJ but not this one -- I've edited the church website so that you can now read our monthly newsletter online, or even download it if such is your preference. Since I also am the person who writes the newsletter, I feel doubly clever. If you're curious about what the heck I do all day to see what I've done, you can click here, then click on the button that says "Epistle."
