On Heath Ledger.

I'm ringing in late because I wanted to see what would be revealed in the news. Not that I'm not still shocked and really rather saddened by the incident, because I am. But from what I'm reading this morning, the situation may be different than originally understood. They're describing his death now as an accident. The currently reported belief is that it was a drug overdose, but not the kind they first thought -- it looks like he accidentally overdosed on prescription sleep aids.

Of course, that doesn't change the fact that we've just lost a very talented and likeable actor. Or the fact that his little baby girl will have to grow up without him. Or the fact that the whole damn thing is just really sad.

Another possibility is a bad interaction between sleeping pills and medication for pneumonia.

He started suffering insomnia while working on Dark Knight; the character was so gritty that he had to start taking pills to get any sleep while he was filming, but apparently they'd only work for him for about an hour. He'd only get about two hours on average a night.

My theory is that even though it's in post-production he was still suffering, and he just took too many, maybe out of frustration or even desperation; that level of insomnia could hardly have been easy to deal with. Which is just... I don't know. It really is just incredibly sad, and such a waste, and me and Tina are still in shock about it really.

I'd say something about his daughter, but I think it's all been said already :(

If his death ends up being an indirect result of working on the Batman film...

God, I just don't know how I'd feel, if I were the filmmakers. Not that it's truly their fault...but oh, how bad I'd feel all the same.

I saw fit to make an icon, though I wasn't a diehard fan.

*jumps in based on what she's read* He was talking in an interview, and I think he just wanted to do it so right that it ended up messing up his sleep cycle; he couldn't sleep because Joker was just so raw.

:( I feel really sad that it may have been his devotion to his career that ended his life. It's... just too much, I gues.
