Writer's Block: Book review

[Error: unknown template qotd]
As a general rule, I think banning books is wrong. That said, I wish that fewer girls would read the Twilight saga and view it as a description of how a relationship is supposed to work. Read it, if you want, but don't be misled.

Oh come on, you're just an old married lady. What do you know about twu wuv? If you and Kevin were really in love you wouldn't be able to handle being apart from each other for more than twenty minutes at a time!

Aside: Graham (remember him?) reportedly used to watch me while I slept. I still feel itchy thinking about it.

THIS. I have a real problem w/Twilight. For that reason, and because the vampires aren't vampires, and the werewolves aren't werewolves. WTF. ;)

Unfortunately, Michael Sheen is in the new Twi-movie, so I will have to find a way of seeing it without actually paying to do so.

Thissss... all taste, and quality aside, it disturbs me that these books are specifically aimed at a group of people who haven't yet solidified their critical thinking skills, and are prone to suggestion and imitation.

I think someone needs to make up big, yellow "Yeild sign" stickers with "THIS BOOK CONTAINS WHAT WOULD BE A DANGEROUS, STALKER, CO-DEPENDENT RELATIONSHIP WERE IT NOT FANTASY" on them. Then we can go on guerrilla runs and slap them onto one of those reportedly blank pages in the middle. Or on the cover. Or over the prologue. Or Afterword. Or all of the above.

The sad thing is, half the YA adult section would have to be banned... and the horror is that if I were still the 13 year old me, I probably would've swallowed Twilight and then some! (though I would've grown out of it.)

Vampires + Sparkly = *gag*

I got through Twilight, but barely. It was trite. Utterly trite. I guess I knew the Harry Potter rage would be over at some point, but did it have to be replaced with something so utterly vomitous?
