As soon as I saw wens's list, I knew she would nail me in the tag. ;) Here we are, twenty random facts about me -- and they're very random, because I'm tired.

1. Today in the mail I received 55 LXG film cels which I bought off eBay for ten dollars.
2. My husband and I both have slightly odd middle names. Mine is Kay, which most people don't seem to get; they think I'm saying my name as "Laura K." (which is also correct, really). His is Mathew, spelled with only one T.
3. I have an Aragorn action figure which my sister Liza brought me from Georgia. Still in the box.
4. I possess multiple copies of certain books. These include the LOTR trilogy, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, and The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes.
5. I have an aversion to swimming in public places on account of the big honking scar on my back. Two summers after my back surgery (I don't recall this event, but my mother told me about it a few years ago), I came home crying from the public pool because some bitchy teenaged girl made fun of it. To this day, the only place I feel comfortable wearing a swimming suit at all is in my mother's pool.
6. I have a fifty-dollar bill sitting here on my desk, which my grandparents taped inside my birthday card. I'm really not sure what to do with it. It's just...there. I'm toying with the idea of hiding it somewhere, forgetting where I hid it, and then surprising myself with a delightful discovery at some point in the future.
7. Kevin may be getting me a kitten for Christmas. It will be a male kitten, most likely. His name will be Tom Sawyer -- unless he's gray, in which case his name will be Dorian.
8. My favorite painting in the world is Edmund Blair Leighton's The Accolade.
9. Most people keep on their desks at work photographs of their spouses and/or children. Me? I have a picture of myself with my "close personal friends," Sherlock and Mycroft Holmes. I look at it anytime I need to smile.
10. My LXG alter ego, Elizabeth Quatermain, was named after Queen Elizabeth I, who is someone I've admired for years.
11. My favorite piece of clothing I've ever owned is the "great coat," my vaguely Victorian trenchcoat which is suitable for all weathers and reaches all the way to my ankles.
12. I like Blade II, but I don't watch it after the character Priest dies. I've actually never seen the rest of the film; once the hot redhead is down, I lose interest.
13. I was born on Labor Day.
14. My default icon is a miniaturized version of a wonderful bit of fan art done for me by serena_inverse.
15. I am falling asleep at my computer. (Could I be any more random?)
16. My favorite number has always been 13 because it's always seemed to me like the underdog of numbers.
17. My laptop's name is Squishy.
18. I've been invited to a Halloween party for the first time ever. I plan to wear my formal Italian Renaissance costume, the velvet gown over the satin underskirt.
19. I finally read Pride and Prejudice for the first time a few weeks ago, and found it -- to borrow a phrase from J. K. Rowling -- "utterly un-put-downable."
20. My sister Lisa and I were born exactly two years and two months apart.
