bits and pieces
Dec. 30th, 2005 09:38 amSaw Narnia last night for the third time. Still smile like the Cheshire cat every time. Still unwisely crushing on Peter. Kevin and I took Andy and Liza, so it was Kevin and Liza's second viewing and Andy's first. He loves it too.
Came home and found, to my profound horror, that there are many new LJ communities dedicated to the film...which isn't in and of itself a bad thing, but so many of them are dedicated to shipping AMONG THE KIDS. I'm not exaggerating! There is, for instance, a Peter/Edmund community. These kids are brothers and sisters, for pity's sake! It's worse than twincest in the Potterverse. So later, when I get home tonight, I plan to create my OWN community dedicated to the Four Sovereigns in a totally un-romantic way. I think those kids are absolutely darling, but I sure as heck don't want them hooking up. (At least, not in character. What the actual, UNrelated people who play those characters do in their real lives is another matter entirely.) I'll post more details once I've set up the community; anyone who'd like to volunteer to help me with a layout would be deeply appreciated, since I have no idea how to do them.
After work I'm heading over to the mall for lunch with a "leading Sherlockian," so to speak. One of the members of the Hounds of the Internet mailing list, known as May Blunder, is passing through the vicinity on her way to visit her twin sister in Bloomsburg. As she enjoys meeting Sherlockians at every opportunity, she emailed me and inquired as to whether she and Beryl Coronet (that's me) might have a meal together. I'm only too delighted to show her the joys of eating at Dunderbak's German restaurant. I just hope I don't make too big a fool of myself; I'm debating whether to tell her about the novel.
Another new icon, btw, this time from
