I won't be seeing Harry until tomorrow at the earliest, because I never watch a Harry film for the first time without Kevin (subsequent viewings may or may not include him) and tomorrow is when he's off. Granted, we could go to a late showing, but I've been staying up way too late recently as it is and am probably racking up some sleep debt.

Soooo after work I'll be going to pick up tickets. I also have to stop at Mom's for some things I left there (including a gift from my step-grandmother; she's apparently upset that I forgot it) and to drop off their anniversary present.

Last night there was a terrible three-car accident at the intersection where my grandparents lived. Kevin heard the sirens and looked outside and realized that all the fire trucks and other flashing-light vehicles were stopping right there, so we put on shoes and walked up. I was pretty shaken by the time we got back. Not only did one of the cars stop a mere eight inches from the house, but Mom, Ravi, and Ravi's parents were in the car directly behind the accident and, according to Mom, would have been IN it if they had been going any faster. Good thing she never speeds in town. No fatalities, fortunately, but at least one person was taken in an ambulance.

Very much having a don't-wanna-be-here kind of morning. Naturally, it's passing v e e e e e r y slowly.

(Other than watching episodes of Beetlejuice on AOL TV, which I should not do on work time. Silly me.)

Pastor is planning to revitalize the church youth group in the fall, along with two of the Sunday School teachers. Pastor himself teaches the 7th and 8th graders; Linda (not his wife, another Linda -- we have lots of them) teaches the high school class; and I teach the 5th and 6th graders. Since those are the ages of membership in the youth group, it makes sense that we would be the ones to run it.

Yesterday I put the idea to him, and he jumped on it at once, that we take the kids up to Hawk Mountain on a Sunday afternoon. To make sure they actually pay attention to their surroundings, however, I am devising a scavenger hunt of sorts; they can't take things with them, but they can answer questions. I am amused because I am able answer all but one of these just off the top of my head. I think I know the answer to that other one, but I'll need to visit the sanctuary and check to be certain.
