Dec. 3rd, 2010 08:16 amNot only did I just wake up to discover that last night's special blog post has been read more than three hundred times, but I got a comment from Walter Reed Hospital itself! Look!
I feel like I've done a small service for my country. This is awesome!
Walter Reed Public Affairs Office has left a new comment on your post "Walter Reed and the Holiday Mail Snafu":
Thanks for reminding well-intentioned supporters of our military of the rules regarding anonymous mail deliveries to military personnel. At Walter Reed, we receive hundreds of emails each year asking us if cards can be sent to our recovering wounded, ill and injured patients. The answer is you should work through organizations like the American Red Cross' Holiday for Heroes mail program. This program and others not only get cards in the hands of patients at Walter Reed BUT at military hospitals across the country where many other wounded, ill and injured military men and women recover. An added bonus is that many cards are also delievered to veteran's homes and rehabilitation hospitals to show them Americans remember them for the service and sacrifice in military conflicts long past.
Again, thanks for including this in your blog. And to all who are working on those cards in time to make the December 10th deadline--thank you for your support of YOUR Soldiers, Marines, Sailors, Airmen and Coast Guardsmen.
