Central Park

ladynorbertI've wanted to visit Central Park ever since I was about nine years old. That was when one of my great-aunts sent me a book called The Prince of Central Park, about an orphan who runs away and lives in a tree there. It's a dated book -- you can tell it was written in the '70s -- but it was still fun to read.
I've been there once. When my seventh-grade class visited New York City, we ate our picnic lunches in Central Park before going into the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Since then I've driven past it on at least one occasion (while taking the Manhattan bus tour), but never explored.

clez and I are doing a scene in the Beyond Evolution game; my Arielle decided she wanted to visit the zoo in Central Park. CP is very important to Ari; she's slept there on numerous occasions, and even when she had a place to live, she spent a lot of free time there. Luka, Clez's character, is an animal lover so Ari invited him along.
Because I'm pedantic and stuff, I pulled up the Central Park website in order to accurately list the animals they'd see and other things. And I'm fascinated. I've been reading all about Belvedere Castle, Strawberry Fields, the statue of Balto, and everything else. It's amazing.
Kevin and I want to go away next Saturday for our anniversary. I'm seriously thinking of asking if we can go up to NYC and spend the day in the park.
