Hi, this is Mega, friend of Lady N and fellow nemesis of those who write OFCs with violet eyes and unpronouncable names. Bwahahahaha!
I couldn't resist adding my two knuts to her reviews above.
#1 Jessie Jesshiquekah Shaellanderial Kalika Quartermain.... God help us, we're off to a good start.
"violet with melted stars" and a side of chips, to go.
"Harper girl, my Harper girl, love of my lonely heart." I'm a Harper girl! In a Harper world! I look oddly! I'm so godly!
"I can smell you, hear you, feel you, and sense you..." Isn't that from Tommy: The Musical?
********** #2a and #2b, Jade and Myrrh
"and her teeth were whiter than the snow" Mary Sue had blood red lips Her teeth were white as snow And why these assholes write this crap The world will never know
"Her nails were painted with some kind of lacquer that was blood red and shiny. " Nail polish, perhaps? No no, silly me, this is a Sue. It must be dragon's blood or something. In memory of her dead father.
"Myrrh is mine, its bitter perfume" Oh, you've crossed the line, bitch! NOBODY Sues Christmas!
"the moon sang eerily...the wind chorused. It too was supernatural and beautiful." Hey man, pass that over....
"the creaking trees crooned, their haunting harmony sending shivers down her spine." Yeah..., Myrrh, my ass. More like Maui Wowie.
In the light (in the light, in the light) Of the weird, singing moon (of the weird, really weird) Breathes a life (breathes a life, breathes a life) of gathering doom (doom doom doobiby doom) ********** #3, Lucy
"The only times that she wore dresses was when her mother had forced her or when she went out with her father" Kinky! A little incest in the ol' Quatermain family eh?
"she had to get used to walking around in a dress and heels and what better place than a ship?" Oh yeah she'll fit right in with the cross-dressing sailors. (Serious note...I've BEEN on a ship in heels. If you don't have your sea legs, heels are not the footwear to try and attain them in.) **********
#4, Carrie
Hmmm. I agree, N, not too much to spork with this one, at least not without reading the whole thing. More'sh the pity.
*********** #5 Abigail
"Then he straightened, his stance reminiscent of something military" The "Don't ask, don't tell" policy?
"I have been unable to locate Nemo or the Nautilus. They have been changing ports frequently and seemingly at random. We have not been able to track them." The Incredible Disapparating Submarine! ********* #5 Elizabeth (I've gotta say something, N. It's only fair. :-D)
"But there is something refreshing and enjoyable about such a cad, so long as nothing disappears from the house during his stay" Like my virginity. No wait, that comes later. HAHA, COMES, get it? Get it? Heh heh...right...anyway....
Lady N's story is by far the best of the group. It can hardly be categorized as a Sue, really, because Elizabeth is: 1) Well-developed. Shut up, Rodney. 2) Not perfect. 3) Not exceptionally beautiful. 4) Given a normal name
Not to mention that the story is well written, spell checked, and grammatically correct.
