Dreams a la NyQuil
Nov. 12th, 2006 12:48 pmWell, for once, my dreams were more entertaining than freaky. Thank you, alcohol-riddled cold medicine!
I was driving home and discovered that my dentist's office had been torn down and replaced with McDonald's. This was kind of a big deal, since as those of you who have been here know, Catasauqua doesn't have a McDonald's. (Two pizza places, one Chinese place, two delis and a very old sit-down restaurant, but no McDonald's.) So I was much surprised to see the place looking dark and deserted. I went inside and discovered that while it looked like a McDonald's on the outside, it was in reality a combination laundromat and bowling alley.
You'd think this might have tipped me off that something wasn't right. But no, I just continued on my merry way and went home to get Kevin and
clez, who was visiting. As some of you may recall, during Clez's last visit, she and I toured the Ripley's museum in Atlantic City. A new restaurant had opened up in the dream over in Allentown, so we headed over to check it out. (I think we had some other people with us, but I only remember Clez and Kevin.) Said restaurant was exactly like the Ripley's museum, but with food.
We were seated at a booth table and, just as our food was brought to us, it was our turn to tour. We didn't have to worry about leaving the food, though, because our booth was actually part of the situation. The museum was a ride, and our booth just wheeled around like a car, taking us to the different exhibits. I almost lost my steak sandwich at one point, but otherwise, all was dandy. Except for the part when Clez got bitten by one of the exhibits and turned into a werewolf; that was kind of a problem. I had a big silver crucifix with which I could ward her off, but any time I set it down she'd get ready to pounce.
Interestingly, I was not at all afraid she'd bite me. I was more worried that she would maul me in that overly-friendly-dog kind of way.
