The police chief will be coming over sometime either today or tomorrow to listen to CBL's voice mail. It's not particularly harassing by itself, but it goes to establish pattern. More than anything, I hate how much this bothers me. I hear her voice and boom, my blood pressure is up. I would recognize her voice anywhere for that reason.

We're in a winter storm watch. Assuming the weather comes to pass as they predict, it will start rain-snowing sometime tomorrow morning and continue throughout the entire day and overnight into Wednesday. Layers upon layers of rain, snow, freezing rain, ice, and sleet. FUN! I told Pastor that if it's really nasty on Wednesday morning, I'm going to take the day off. Except for paid vacations and funerals, I've taken off all of two days since I started working here, so he has no problem with this.

Am distracting myself from CBL's villainy by working on The Secretary Project. She should be flattered, she got her own entry.

It's lunchtime and I think I smell grilled cheese. I hope I do, anyway, because I've been craving it. Which may be a sign that I play Sims more than is healthy...

I just got the email from Arlene, the volunteer coordinator for Operation Shoebox. (Not to be confused with my other patriotic volunteer project, Operation Paperback.) Arlene was writing to give me the identity and address of our soldier -- the St. Paul's Sunday School kids and teachers have adopted an American soldier deployed in the Middle East (I'm not sure exactly where).

Pastor and I wanted a service project that the entire Sunday School could do together, so when I came across this, we agreed it would be perfect. For security reasons, I am not allowed to share the address with anyone; only Pastor and I have access to it, so we have to take responsibility for all mailings. But I can tell you that his name is Edward and his expected return is April 2009, which means we have to send him weekly letters and monthly packages for a little over a year.

I can't WAIT to tell my class! I'm taking charge of the sort of 'introductory' package, where I send him a few things and explain that he's been adopted by an entire Sunday School. I also have to send a letter to all the Sunday School teachers to urge them to attend a staff meeting at the end of the month, so they can explain the situation to their own classes.

*wriggles with excitement* This is exactly the kind of boost I needed today.
