what I get out of it

"You're really getting into this Sherlock Holmes thing, aren't you?"

"Mmhmm."

*beat* "Why?"

"What?"

"Why this? I mean, what do you get out of Holmes?"

Hmm. A tricky question, that. Not to be asked lightly, and certainly not to be answered lightly.

What do I get out of the Master? So far, I've gotten this:

• A renewed appreciation for 19th century literature and art
  
• A slightly improved knowledge of the French language, which has never been one of my strong points
  
• A new outlet for my fanfic creativity
  
• The stunning realization that I am, after all, capable of original ideas -- something I had previously been doubting, as nentikobe chastised me for
  
• The wonderfully dizzying sensation that only comes from reading positive reviews, which I'd not felt keenly for awhile
  
• The tent joke ;)
  
• And last but by no means least, I've gained aerynstales, lfire1, ladyrazorsharp, book_addict, only_seimei, madzilla, wens, and melwasul

"What do I get out of Sherlock Holmes? Let's just say...quite a bit."
